This is Juan Diego's first year doing piano. He is very excited to be learning to play like his brothers. He will be doing Level A.

You mention in the lesson plans to let you know how it is going. He will not do the 5 finger exercise. He only wants to play with his index finger! He likes the program, but like you mentioned in one of the readings for parents, he is much more interesting right now at looking at the spider and Mr. Oops than hitting a correct note. The Guess Key game does go well. He can play it correctly.

It is ok!
However, we can play games to develop his fingers' awareness:
1. Take his hand and ask to tell fingers name as do, re, mi, fa and sol
2. If you have play dough, make 5 holes in it and let him place his fingers into the holes. Ask to lift a finger at a time and name it with the corresponding note name.
