It seems to me like the 4th finger's problem is solved ;) I see very good improvement in your son's fine motor skills development. Way to go!

Very good job! I have couple of suggestions, though:
1. In this exercise he has to play Do Re Mi Fa So Fa Mi Re Do - up and down with the Right hand
and Do Ti La So Fa So La Ti Do with the Left. Soon he will play the exercise using both hands in contrary motion.

2. Please, make him higher seat. His elbows should be above the piano keys.

3. Tuning the sound of your computer (making it coming from piano). Please, check this lesson: pianolearningsoftware.com/pages/demo-les...earning-to-go-gentle


I love this video. Ivan has excellent left hand fingers' coordination! Great job!


I would recommend to cut smaller segments of the songs. 2-4 bars at a time. Did you learn, how to do that?

BTW, you have beautiful voice! :)

Hi Hellene,

Thank you for suggestion. I will work your suggestion with Ivan. He has trouble to play 4th finger after 5th finger. I think he will get used to this way after practicing.

Yes. I know how to cut smaller segments by Ctrl + Enter and Ctrl + Backspace. Ivan remember the songs so he always asked to play full songs if this song is not too long, ie French Song.
I found his right hand move around different octave instead of middle C.
It seems he lost his right hand position after reading notes and trying to find the keys for a while.
Is it a better way to fix his right hand in middle C?
Right now, I let him play "Hot Cross Buns" as this song is shorter and repeats Do Re Mi
So his right hand won't fly around. Maybe he will get used to middle C.

Sharry, at his age he also is facing an obstacle of developing eye-hand coordination.

Here is the progress for this week.
1. Ivan asked me to use 3 instead of 1 in Gentle Piano.
2. We mainly focus on Hot Cross Buns and Finger Exercise.
3. He struggled with both hand when playing Hot Cross Buns. We will keep practicing this

Here is the progress for this week.
1. I picked some songs (Jingle Bell, Ode to Joy, Surprise Symphony) and played R4. Ivan sings the note when I played each note without Solfeggio.
2. We do finger exercise every day
3. Ivan still refused Guess Key, we only did once 1:00(18)
4. Ivan figured out delay time and sometimes tried to played longer to make time bigger.
