Well Mason will be turning 4 next week and is finally ready to start getting more serious with the piano. We have been doing the academy Prep B lessons, and he has been having a great time. He has a better internal sense of pitch than his older brother and has always loved singing, but only now is his attention span getting to where he can really focus on practicing to the point where he makes continuous progress. Here are some videos of his first weeks lessons in the academy.
Here he is singing along do to do and back again. He starts a little high inititally, but does better on his way back down.
And here he is singing and playing Hot Cross Buns. We had always used the letter notes and not solfegio until now (you can see the letters on our keys), but have decided to use the solfegio since it is recommended for the academy, thus it is a little bit of an adjustment.

Linzy, it is adorable!
As you may see, he is still singing out of tune, but... singing and playing together is helping him to coordinate the pitch and speech. I won't be surprised that he will develop perfect pitch very soon!
Coordination is WONDERFUL for his age. Way to go, Mason!
